Charity Work - Whole School
Throughout the year we support charities both as a whole school and as class specific projects.
Our whole school fundraising includes charities in our local community, national initiatives - Macmillan and Children in Need and also global projects such as the Shoebox Appeal. More information below.
For more information on our class specific fundraising please visit our Courageous Advocates page.
Donations from thousands of Coffee Mornings, big and small, help raise vital funds to support the almost 3.5 million people in the UK living with cancer, from the moment they are diagnosed, throughout treatment and beyond.
As a school we annually hold a coffee morning which is extremely well attended by our families. This year we raised £197.41 for the charity.

During harvest and throughout the year we support our local community by collecting and donating food to the Crossley Centre and supporting their Community Fridge initiative. The centre is based within a 5 minute walk from school.
The Crossley Community Association runs a community fridge and provides hot food at the Crossley Centre each Wednesday afternoon 2pm til 4pm offering free food to everyone. This project helps prevent fresh food waste and provides a free hot meal from feed my city.
The food collected during harvest was donated and collected by a representative from the Community Fridge.

As a school we are involved in Operation Christmas Child with our parishes, Christ Church and St Saviour's. We have collected items to make up the shoeboxes which include soft toys, hygiene kits, stationary, books and games.
Our school RE ambassadors met with members of the parishes to put together the shoeboxes to be sent to a child that may never have received a gift before. We will follow our shoeboxes around the world as they reach their final destination.

The Good Samaritan
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them.
After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” For over 50 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Money from the Poppy Appeal goes to support the Armed Forces community, providing a wide range of help to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The funds are used for financial aid, advice, employment and housing support, mental health services, and mobility assistance.
